Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 July 2026

This policy explains how Liban Bites collects and uses personal information when you visit our website, contact us, create an account or place an order directly with us.

1. Who we are

Liban Bites is the controller of the personal information covered by this policy. We trade from 297 Old Street, London EC1V 9LA. You can contact us at info@libanbites.com or on 020 3623 8420.

2. Information we may collect

Depending on how you use our services, we may collect:

  • your name, telephone number, email address and delivery address;

  • order details, collection or delivery instructions, transaction references, refunds and customer-service history;

  • account details and login information if you create a website account;

  • messages, feedback, complaints and allergy or dietary information that you choose to provide;

  • marketing preferences and records of consent or opt-out requests;

  • technical information such as IP address, device type, browser, approximate location, pages viewed, referring source and cookie identifiers; and

  • fraud-prevention, security and service-performance information.

Payments are handled by payment service providers. We do not receive or store your complete payment-card number or security code.

3. How we collect information

We collect information directly from you when you order, contact us, complete a form, create an account or set your cookie preferences. We also receive technical information automatically from the website and may receive order or support information from payment, delivery or ordering providers where needed to fulfil an order or resolve a complaint.

4. How and why we use your information

UK data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for each use. We may use personal information:

  • To take and fulfil orders. This includes processing payment confirmation, preparing food, arranging delivery or collection, contacting you about the order and dealing with refunds. The lawful basis is performance of a contract or taking steps at your request before entering one.

  • To answer enquiries and resolve complaints. The lawful basis is performance of a contract where the issue concerns an order, and otherwise our legitimate interest in providing customer service and protecting our business.

  • To keep financial, tax and business records. The lawful basis is compliance with legal obligations and our legitimate interest in maintaining accurate records and defending legal claims.

  • To operate, secure and improve the website. This includes troubleshooting, fraud prevention, performance measurement and understanding how people use the site. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure and effective service. Where the law requires cookie consent, we rely on consent.

  • To send marketing. We rely on consent where required. In limited cases, the electronic marketing rules may allow us to contact existing customers about similar services, provided we offered an opt-out when collecting the details and in every message. You can opt out at any time.

  • To establish, exercise or defend legal rights and protect health or safety. The lawful basis may be our legitimate interests, a legal obligation, or the protection of vital interests in an emergency.

If you voluntarily give us allergy or health information, we use it only to respond to your request and help handle your order safely. Where this is special-category data, we process it with your explicit consent or where another lawful condition applies.

5. When information is required

Some information is needed to accept and fulfil an order, such as contact details, an address for delivery and payment confirmation. If you do not provide it, we may be unable to complete the order. Other information, including marketing choices, is optional.

6. Who we share information with

We share only what is reasonably necessary with:

  • Wix, which hosts and supports this website and its ordering or account features;

  • payment processors, banks and fraud-prevention providers;

  • delivery drivers, delivery partners and ordering providers involved in fulfilling an order;

  • IT, analytics, communications and professional advisers acting for us;

  • insurers, regulators, law-enforcement bodies, courts or other parties where required by law or needed to protect legal rights; and

  • a buyer or successor if the business is sold, reorganised or transferred, subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell personal information.

7. Deliveroo, Uber Eats and other third parties

If you follow a link to Deliveroo, Uber Eats, Google, Instagram or another service, that organisation may collect and use your information under its own privacy policy. Orders placed through a third-party platform are primarily governed by that platform's privacy arrangements. We may receive limited order details needed to prepare the food, support delivery or handle a complaint, but we do not control all processing carried out by those platforms.

8. International transfers

Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where personal information is transferred internationally, we require an appropriate safeguard where the law requires one. This may include a UK adequacy regulation, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to approved standard contractual clauses, or another lawful mechanism.

9. How long we keep information

We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, including legal, accounting and complaint-handling requirements. Our normal guide is:

  • order, payment and refund records, up to six years after the relevant financial year or transaction;

  • customer-service enquiries and complaints, normally up to two years after closure, or longer if a dispute or legal requirement applies;

  • marketing information, until you opt out or after a reasonable period of inactivity;

  • records of consent and opt-out requests, for as long as needed to demonstrate compliance; and

  • technical and security logs, normally up to 12 months unless an incident requires longer retention.

We may anonymise information so that it no longer identifies anyone. Anonymised information may be kept for statistical purposes.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No online system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password if you create an account and tell us if you suspect unauthorised access.

11. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:

  • ask for access to your personal information;

  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;

  • ask for deletion or restriction of processing;

  • object to processing based on legitimate interests or to direct marketing;

  • receive certain information in a portable format;

  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier lawful processing; and

  • complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

These rights are not absolute and lawful exemptions may apply. To make a request, email info@libanbites.com. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity. We normally respond within one month.

12. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technology to operate the website and, where you agree, to understand usage or support marketing. Non-essential cookies should not be placed before the required consent is obtained. See our Cookie Policy and use the site's cookie settings to review or change your choices.

13. Children

This website and our online ordering service are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child who cannot lawfully provide it without parental responsibility, except where supplied by an adult as part of an order or enquiry.

14. Complaints

Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a privacy concern. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by calling 0303 123 1113.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services, suppliers or legal obligations change. The latest version will be posted on this page with a revised date.
